Hey Jerry Brown, yeah the one in California - Give us a call !
Gov. Brown is enforcing water restrictions on household use of water as the drought continues to crush the state in a severe and prolonged seige. With perhaps a year left in the State's resevoirs, the situation if going critical. Much of the garden vegetables and fruit that feed over 300 million people come from California and that is sorely threatened by this water crisis.
In order to protect the enormous farms in the valley, (who use over 80% of the available water) and generate billions in revenue, residential homes are, in effect, being placed on water rationing.
The largely inefficient farming methods employed by the vegetable growiers are part of the cause of this crisis in the first place. As noted over 80% of all water in the state is consumed by these AgroBiz factory farms. Aquaponics growing could save most of that water as aquaponics recirculates and does NOT pollute with tons of nitrate fertilizer. I say Aquaponics (AP) and not Hydroponics because (HP) because AP is more efficient and pollutes less water than does HP. and because AP uses no fertilizer and HP does! Water is not only recirculated but discharge can easily be rendered environmentally neutral.
In addition, AP produces high quality protein (seafood) as well since the effluent of the seafood contains most of the nutrients needed by the plants. It is a symbiotic natural process. It is a closed loop system. So, hey, Jerry ...give us a call!
